MURALS

Creating a mural gives me the opportunity to create a totally different atmosphere to a room.  To design such a unique space for a client, creating a magical area of tranquillity with added personal touches, and seeing the transformation makes me very happy! Whether it’s a complete room or just a small area of trompe l’oeil, I love sharing my clients delight at such a quirky and unexpected feature.

An assortment of murals created over the years. These murals have been created in and around people’s homes and are carefully designed to fill their criteria. Essential criteria that I need to know in order to start a project for you includes budget, subject matter and the space you want to fill. Caribbean Mural

Swimming pools are perfect for letting your imagination run away from you to create a really captivating mural. This customer’s swimming pool was quite long and narrow. One of the concepts behind painting this endless landscape was to make the area feel less enclosed; with the presence of this mural, you no longer see the wall and you’re transported to this incredible place. This mural took around six weeks to complete, after the initial work. This one needed scaffolding in order to reach the entire span of wall that needed painting.

Kitchen Mural

The client was unable to put windows into this wall in the kitchen due to it being a retaining wall, so she decided to do something special with the space instead. For this mural, I captured elements of her previous, beloved garden and little symbols of precious memories in the objects scattered across the view. The mural was painted onto three panels of heat resistant board and screwed into the wall, so if the client wished to move house again, she could take the mural with her. This mural took roughly four weeks due to the level of detail, after developing the idea and choosing the final design.

Mauritian Mural

For this mural, the clients wanted to be surrounded by a feeling of tranquility, as if they could go on holiday each day in their own home. The idea of the view was to capture the vast expanse of the beach, so that once you were in the pool, it felt as though you were looking out across the sand. This mural took roughly six weeks on site; this is not including the preparatory work beforehand.
