A day of learning a variety of techniques to create a seascape in acrylic paints. 10am to 3pm. £90pp.

Oil Painting Six Week Course

  • Week One

    Simplifying colour. Starting with colour wheels and mixing.

  • Week Two

    Still life - and an introduction to underpainting.

  • Week Three

    A charcoal plan for a landscape.

  • Week Four

    Starting the oil landscape: scaling up composition using the grid method.

  • Week Five

    Building up the layers of light and dark, then adding colour.

  • Week Six

    Finishing touches and adding depth to the landscape.

The oil painting course takes place four times a year, with the opportunity to move onto an intermediate course when you’re ready. The course sessions are 9:30am to 12:30pm on a Monday and cost £260pp. This course is suitable for beginners and those who are looking to build their confidence with oils.
